Hole 8
A straightaway par 5 that plays very differently depending on the tee. With an 80-metre gap between the black and white tees, the hole can change dramatically. From the forward tees, longer hitters may have a chance to reach the green in two.
A solid tee shot is crucial for all players. With hazards and out-of-bounds left and tall gums on the right, finding the generous fairway is a must. The second shot also needs to be well positioned to set up an approach into an extremely difficult green.
The real defence of this hole is its large, two-tiered green. If you’re on the wrong tier, your next shot is nearly impossible. Be sure to take note of the flag position before hitting your approach.
